    Hello everyone,
hope you all had a wonderful weekend. This shot is of a red crossbill. Taken on Forbidden Plateau Ski Hill located in Courtenay B.C. Canon 20D, 500mm and 1.4X extender, 1/500 sec at F/11 (Hand Held).

    Have a great week,

    Nice perch and background.
Looks a bit soft but not too bad for handholding the equivalent of 1120mm at 1/500 !

Fill flash may have helped lighten the dark areas but a better light angle would have helped
even more. Would like to see a bit more room on the right to get the bird a little off
center. Also wish for a bit of a head turn toward the viewer.

Nice find. Exposure and details look good, maybe a bit S/H and I would clone out the OOF branch underneath the wing. The angle is a bit steep and a head turn would have helped with this a little.
