Default Theme: The Secret Lives of Wrens

hi all, I've been a member here for sometime now, but have yet to post anything to the forums. After a bit of persuasion from Denise, I figgured it's time to jump in and enjoy the fun. I've long been a fan of photo art and I'm really enjoying the creative images you're sharing here :)
This is an image from this past summer, of a female Marsh Wren that I captured in fading light at a favored wetlands area. Since they're such secretive birds, I wanted to add a bit of 'mystery' to the image, so I applied a few texture overlays via layers, erasing/masking as I went along.
(I size my images quite small for another online photography site, so hoping they're not too small to display here)
    Suggestions and comments always appreciated~

Cindy, First of all a big welcome to OOTB. I have admired your work for quite some time and I'm glad you decided to jump in. Excellent first post. The lighting and the vignette do create a sense of mystery. Great looking bird in a very nice pose. Very well done!:)

Cindy, I love this photo and your treatment. These wrens are really hard to coax into the open, so I can appreciate the photo. Great catch! The treatment really adds to the feel of seclusion.

Hey Cindy, what a treat to have such a talented lady with us :)

I love what you did here, and the pose with the raised tail. The effects are very subtle and look very natural. Way to go!
Danny was here last month, he must be busy for the Holidays now.

Beautiful stuff, Cindy! I might take a slice off the top to bring him a little higher in the frame but this is truly a lovely image. You did a great job on creating a specific feeling with the use of textures and overlays.
