This is an Elk Cow that had a radio control device around her neck and we called her RC, thought it was cute and did try for some portraits, they can make good subjects. btw this particular took a liking to Mike (Robinson) and following him around !! She's a beauty alright. I like the subdued, cool look of this one, goes well with the look on her face. Nice BG too.

I do hope she is not radio controlled?

I really hate monitoring collars, do you have the same problems with these in US as we do in Africa?

I like to imagine how much better this would look without the collar.

They collar Tigers here in India for research and they are unable to find any new thing ,

Not surprising, these researchers can be quite a totally unecessary pain.

Not only Pain but sometimes they ruin our hard earned money by forcing us to photograph Collared Tiger

Lovely soft light and fine fur detail with pleasing BG Al.
Not a fan of collared subjects either, one can only hope that a less intrusive method will be developed.
As this method has now been in use for over 30 years I believe.

    Thanks for that!

Might be handy though to avoid all of those rear-end shots!

Thanks for sharing this Alfred. So pleased Mike got "hit" on too. That's rich... :). Research is important, but it does appear there are a host of ethical issues that follow. Nice image with and without the collar.
