    Default Harlequin Back

Not your typical portrait, since I like their plumage so much, I actually like the view of their back, too.

Axel, Very nice looking plumage! The feather detail is lovely. The head looks like it's been placed on top!

Very nice image, Axel! The patterns and colors of the bird's plumage give it plenty of interest IMO.

I love it! I think the plumage is beautiful and Denise is right - it looks like someone plopped his head on! The colors, sharp details and water drops all come together for a lovely image.

I bet you are enjoying that 500mm every bit as much as I am the 400mm you sold me. It's been such a joy to have that lens these past few months. I really cherish it and it's quickly becoming my "go to" lens. (Which probably means that soon I'll be selling my home to buy the 600mm!)

Axel this is a view we seldom see...I wonder sometimes when this bird evolved, how or why it came up with these colors...TFS

Thanks, Julie! I'm glad you like the 400 as much as I did and think your next lens should be the 800f/f5.6, it's much easier to handhold than the 600f/4. :)

Good question, my best guess would be to impress the harlequin girls, but what do I know. :)

Yeah, Axel...I'd have to sell my house AND my car to get the 800!;)
