Thought I would fool around with this one...
To get HK look I radically brightened the image and then converted to B&W.
Using the dodge tool erased all detail on top and bottom that I didn't want. I then burned in the image.
Used Topaz mild details to get the image sharper
Applied Nik bi color filter to get the brown and green
Then used grad filter for the blue
Hand colored eye....

Dave, Really nice effect. I like the gradient BG and the high-key look. The colors look great! Well done.:D

Nice job, Dave. I like what it did to the water surrounding the turtle and like the gradient colors.
