Beautiful iamge!! Just a slight CW rotation. Would also clone out the extra catchlight.

Thanks Ofer, camera was actually perfectly level it is the pose of the killdeer that implies rotation since it was walking and slightly bent forward.

Hi Arash, it's not the pose but the ripples on the water that look tilted CCW. I won't relay on the camera to judge how leveled the image is.

Ofer I think this is normal, the killdeer and the ripples are not parallel to sensor in this case but have a slight angle towards the camera so the ripples should not be level. If you level the ripples killdeer will be pointing upward which is not natural and what the original scene was like. But maybe that looks better from a viewer's point of view.

    thanks!

Hi Arash, I guess the best way to jugde an image is by seeing. I am not trying to argue with you - just showing what I mean. Here is a repost with the following changes - a slight CW rotation, removing the extra catchlight and slight cooling filter in order to soften the warming effect of the late evening light and bring out some more blue in the BG.

Thanks Ofer, repost is nice. I agree at the end of the day what matters is how the viewers like to see the photo, I usually try to be faithful to the original scene but in this case the modified version might look better. I will redo the RAW and post again.

    Thanks for editing.

Hi Arash - Very beautiful capture, lighting and water are a very pleasing touch. Did you have to crop off a lot here?

I like the angle, light and sharpness. Good discussion above, I agree that the leveled repost is an improvement as is the catchlight.

    Beautiful image Arash!
I agree with Ofer's comments as far as leveling the image and removing the second catchlight. I am not sold on using a cooling filter though. Isn't that why we shoot early morning and late afternoon when the light is nice and warm?

Hi Adams, in Arash's last repost you can see the effect of a cooling filter. You can still see the effect of the nice warm light yet there is more blue at the BG which I feel is nicer when compared to the original post where no filter was used.

My opinion is the Photo Filters, Cooling and Warming are good a powerful PS tools and often just the ticket and the shortest way to solve a problem with some images.

I suggest experiment, experiment, experiment. Try out those filters a bit, it is easy to back out of them if results are undesirable to you.

Really quite an excellent shot Arash as I like the slightly lifted leg and nice bg.
