    I shot this one today. I know I shouldn't have list the right wing tip, but I was in a very unstable boat and felt it was a good result considering the conditions. Nikon D3, 200-400 at 400 plus 1.4 extender. 1/500sec @ f/11, Multi-segment metering, Apeture priority,ISO 200, AF mode, AF-C. Please let me know what you think.

    Details and light looks good. You mentioned the clipped wing. It would have been better if the bird flew toward you and the wing wouldn't cast a shadow on the head.

    Hi wheeler,

    With the D3, you can be at ISO 800 without blinking an eye and that would give you much better shutter speed for flight. Shame a bout the wing tp and his wing put a shadow on his face. You go him sharp for 1/500.

    The Shadow in the face bothers me more than the wing clip. You did well with the exposure.
