    Default In Search of Breakfast



    caught this sanderling at the beach at Estero Beach at first light. Should I trim some more from the bottom?

    f/8
    1/400
    Ev + 1/3
    ISO 400

    almost full frame.

    Hi Michael - Nice image of a little shorebird in action on the foraging front. You could take a tiny bit more off the bottom but I didn't see much difference when I did it. I think it looks great. The bokeh is a little coarse on this one - not quite as buttery as I would expect from the 7D at ISO 400. Still wish I had one!

    I like the angle, mood and feeding behavior. I would run NR on the BG and wish we could see the eye a bit better.

    Pretty darned good all around. I love the bill in the clam. You did well with the soft light from the left.
