    Hi Ken

one of my favorite places to visit when I want to get away from it all... just a 4 hour journey... so I know that these guys are not the easiest to photograph as they can be skittish so you have to be very patient ...

lovely image , only suggestion is to add a bit of contrast..try the linear contrast in the Ps curves menu...

I like the pose and having the animal above you, neat perspective !!! Agree on the contrast boost

btw have been paying attention to the PS contrast preset curves and like the results !! Past few months have been using the preset before applying curves manually.

The looking up perspective is unusual and well done. I like the way he is looking at you. There seems to be a halo around the zebra like too much shadow/highlight tool?

    Ken,
What are the characteristic features of this species? How do you recognise?

This must be one of your few images created using a bean bag?

Since you were using a bean bag, I would have liked a narrow aperture by sacrificing some shutter speed.

    Thanks for sharing.

Basically it has no shadow stripes, a brown coloured nose and a dewlap. More details can be found here

When we are in our own vehicle I often use a bean bag rather than hand hold. I agree that a higher F stop would have been better, but I am not very good at changing settings.

The perspective (slightly lower) and clean blue sky BG set this apart.

I like "animals on ridges" shots and this is a good one. Nice pose and I like the tightening pattern of stripes on the face. A little boost in contrast will really make this one pop. I'm also seeing a slight halo around the zebra.
