I suspected I needed a higher shutter speed, but bumping up to ISO 1600 usually turns out to be counterproductive.

Looking good Bill I like the pose and foot dragging, sharp and well exposed, bg looks excellent. Would go a little brighter on the bird particularly the head area and back !!

Super composition, image and capture Bill,
The color rendition is spot on, I like the details and the dragging feet...looking forward to your next one...

Pose, composition and background are lovely. Especially the wing position and dragging feet. It does seem a bit noisy on my screen; perhaps the high ISO?

hi Bill - love the pose, the dragging feet and the little droplets of water. Agree with AL could be a bit brighter for my persona tastes.
    Good show :)

If you have read any of my other post you would realize how much focus has been a challenge to me. If I ever reach the level you have achieved here I would feel great. Matter of fact not only the focus but the overall quality of the capture. GREAT.
