Bill, I really like your old photos series. The vignette I feel is a bit too heavy. I'm not sure about the Egret so close to the frame on the left but in the olden days as you have mentioned I imagine that would have been done. I like the toning on the inside of the image.
Very nice, Bill. You should save some of these for the old photo theme coming up in a few weeks. :) I like the toning and treatment. Agree with Denise on the vignette, and I wish the flying egret was pointing to the right instead of the left.
Love this one in your series as well, Bill. I do agree that the vignette is a bit heavy mostly because it is almost touching the beaks of both birds on the left and right. If it were lighter I think it would give a feeling of more space at the frame's edge for the birds to be enveloped in.
You totally nailed the toning in this one and I think the combination of egrets is lovely. I'd just like a little more space inside the frame.
Appreciate the feedback. I think I've been concentrating on the toning and other "aged" photograph aspects and neglecting composition. I also am having a bit of difficulty with vignettes. Appreciate the comments as usual. regards~Bill
Thanks for the feedback. This time I tried using the vignette that comes with ACR and apparently the separate layer technique that Denise mentioned, and which I had been using previously, is better. regards~Bill
