I decided to go the "old photo" road with this.

I converted the image to a tritone using one of my sepia tones. I then added two render cloud overlays, one set to soft light blending mode at 100% and the other set to vivid light blending mode at 23% opacity. I then added a leaf texture from one of my photos set to overlay blending mode at 26% opacity, and a rock texture from another of my photos set to soft light blending mode at 42% opacity. On both the cloud and texture overlays, I masked out the bird. Finally, I added a vignette and a little noise.

Thanks for the play, Dave. Was a fun image to work with. :)

Classic old look! I love the bg and the bronze look on the feathers. It just pops out. Excellent pp and thanks for sharing the workflow. Agree with Cheryl, there is so much to learn from your images.

Christopher, Nice job on the color toning and aging of this image. The BG is great and almost out shines the dove, but in a good way:)
