Default Juv. Ring billed gull landing

I know perch is bad but they refuse to land anywhere else :-) And I am not into big-time cloning.

    40D. 400 f/5.6. iso 400. f/6.3. 1/1600. Full frame with a little canvas added.

The right side of the bird was severely underlit as the sun was quite strong. Lots of curves work on the RAW file to bring that up. I realise now that I need to rework the tail as it has become too light and has lost the contrast pop.

    All opinions welcome.

Yes Kaustubh - the lighting must have been a real challenge in this one. I love the feet-in-the-air action as it prepares to land. Would have been better if the tail cleared the top of the poll. Great wing position and composition. I think your curves work saved the image.

I like the landing pose and wing position and wish for a better light angle and a nicer perch.
