Default Workin on our night moves

Little Green Heron, Anhinga Trail, Everglades Florida

Somehow the Bob Seger lyrics seemed to fit here. I actually made this image in the dark before sunrise along the Anhinga Trail. I saw this little guy and I suppose he was hunting, it was way too dark for an image so I used a some fill flash which hit the water and created the ripples of light you see on him. I thought it looked kinda cool.

    Nikon D3, 600VR, ISO 400, f8, 1/60, Fill Flash -1, Gitzo 3530 LSV, Wimberley Head II.

    Hi George,

Very sharp. Love the mysterious feeling to it. You did well finding this guy in the dark!

Agree with you, the light streaks falling across him are cool! You used just enough light that I can see what is essential without having to strain and feel dissatisfied. I like it alot! What is the trick (?!) to getting a camera to focus in very very dim light?
