I wish the foot weren't covered by the tail, but for some reason, I like this one. And my wife really likes the squirrels.

I had to go to quality setting of 3 to get in under the wire size wise :( Save for Web didn't even get close.

btw I sure wish you would try saving different Check out Arties images in his newsletter They are only 45 to 50 KB and they ROCK !!!

When saving for web if you specify the kb size you can not go wrong Also there is not quality 3 setting There is a tutorial in digital workflow If something is not clear pleas PM and will help you out

btw love his little but and those legs !!!! Big Congrats !!!

I like the compostion off this image and I like the way the squirrel is giving eye contact. I'm on my laptop while I'm here in Yellowstone so I'm hesitant to make IQ conclusions but it seems the plane of focus on the tree..

Thanks Al. There are only certain types of images that give me this sort of trouble.

I did use save for web originally. I specified 100kb and the final image size ended up over 160kb. Save for web tends to miss the file size more often than not. On images with plain, smooth BGs, it is really easy to get the size down. With a lot of detail in the image (like the bark patterns on the tree) it doesn't work so well.
