    Default Female Bald Eagle

Captured the female from the pair of Bald Eagles I follow this morning. She had just finished a meal (full crop) and didn't move for close to 2 1/2 hours. I had time to photograph a RTH catching a Vole and come back to see her still perched in the same spot.

A Kenko non-reporting extender was used and this is cropped from landscape to portrait. A large OOF branch was removed from the lower part of the image.

Very nice bird, I like the detail on the plumage. Did you spot-meter on the head?
I wish the shadow at the middle of the bird was not there. Nice in any case.

Nice pose with that classic eagle "frown", Duane. Good sharpness on the eye and beak and just enough space on the right. Well done.

Yes...metered off the head in this case. The wind was blowing and I had to time the head turn with a branch that kept putting a shadow across her face.

Thank you all for the critique. I was wondering if someone would notice the "chaulky" color to the darker plumage because I see it and I was wondering if others did. I had to do some shadow recovery in this image because the darks were underexposed.
