Default 1D Mark IV - High ISO Images

The page takes a while to load: http://unwire.hk/2009/12/18/canon_1d...so_video_test/

Images at ISO 6400 look remarkably clean. I don't know if in-camera noise reduction is enabled and if they are resized full frame images or crops, though.

In case you don't read Chinese, the highest ISOs recommended by that site are:

    • ISO 6400 for full HD monitor display
    • ISO 12800 for prints of A3+ size
    • ISO 25600 for website use
    • ISO 51200 for small photos in newspapers/magazines

Thank you, Desmond! This information is very useful for many people here who are not entirely fluent in Chinese. :)

Desmond, can you confirm that most images are 50% crops?

    Painfully slow!!!

These looks like JPEGs with standard in-camera noise reduction, and then reduced to 50% not much you can tell... I wonder why Canon has withhold releasing more MKIV samples until now, I remember Artie mentioned he had some nice samples.

12,800 looks pretty good too. But I'd be ecstatic with a totally usable 3200.

It states on that page the stuffed-pig shots are 33% crop and those of the color pencils 100%. How much then they reduced the pics for posting, it doesn't say.

It's extremely slow here, too. So slow that I gave up waiting :)

Are the above images prodution or preproduction copies? Canon HK sent out a press release stating a December 23rd availability for Hong Kong.

No idea, it's probably a good idea to wait to judge the image quality until the new bodies are available. Here it is not even clear if in-camera NR was enabled or not.
