    I took this a couple days ago and believe it to be the locally very common Glaucous Winged Gull. Cropped from a horizontal. 50D, 500mm f/4, at f/4, 1/250 and ISO400. Dave

    Liked the low angle, wing blur and the water splash a lot. One thing that bothers me is the contrast. You might want to play with the contrast in RAW conversion. Nice timing.

    i like the angle and a funny face. not ideal light though but you managed really well here.

    Ye, easing the contrast would certainly improve the image. Funky pose and the feet are killer.

    Thanks for the comments, particularly about the contrast. It was a very low contrast day and perhaps I was feeling some need for light. Dave
