    Here in Molokai Hawaii this could be either a Pacific Golden Plover or a Black Bellied Plover. I am leaning to Pacific Golden Plover but need confirmation.

    Roy, It doesn't look to have a vestigial hind toe, so I would rule out a BBP. Do you have any other images that would show that area better-just in case it's there.

    This is a Pacific Golden-Plover juvenile. Note that relatively thin bill, small-headed look, and very short primary projection. It also has a very warm brown base coloration. BBP has a thick, heavy bill, is generally grayish, and tends to look much bulkier.

    Thanks Chris, that is what I thought but I've not seen either before.
