slight crop (90% of full frame)

I knew the branch in front of the owl was going to spoil the image, too bad I guess., fortunatly I was able to cature a few more angles before the bird moved.

That branch doesn't spoil it in my book, Raymond. It is a natural setting, a beautiful subject, and has a nice overall wintry feel. I very much enjoyed this image.

This must have been a very cooperative owl. My local neighborhood owl was not nearly as accommodating. I like the soft light, eye contact and setting and don't find the branch in front of the owl distracting since it almost looks like the perch.

Very nice Raymond. The sharp yellow beak between those beady black eyes really makes the photo. I might try to soften some of the Background highlights.

Very nice photo of a very serious looking owl. Well done. I did not notice the branch until you mentioned it, so I echo the others comments about the branch. I was a bit distracted by some of the bg high lights in tlc. Dave

I thought that big branch was the perch. Love the eyes, they look like black marvels. I can almost feel the coldness in this one! Great job capturing this stunning owl.

The branch does not bother me as the snow on it adds to the image. But do miss the amazing talons these owls have in this particular image.

    Congrats on the series.
