    Default Osprey with Rainbow Trout

I like the determined look in the eye of the Osprey. The crop is a little tight, but I wanted to highlight the bird and the fish by letting them occupy a bit more of the frame. I feel like there's enough room to the right of the bird, but I'm curious what you all think.

Good catch both of you. I would give it a tad more room top and right, the emphasis would still be on the action and if it were mine, I might tone down the whites on the head a bit. The noise looks pretty good for ISO 800. Does it need a bit CCW rotation?

Hi Doug. Nice capture, I like the wing position and eye contact. You might sharpen a bit. The fish is cool with the S curve to it's body. The room on the right suits me but my eye keeps going to the space above and the space behind the tail, which are about equal. I think a little more space on top would be better.

Agree with the nice determined look on the Osprey's face. The trout's S curve adds a lot of visual interest for me. I'm fine with the room on the left. I think a bit more room at the top would help. Some more selective sharpening on the head?? Eye looks fine, but the feather detail around isn't there.

Really nice image, Doug. Agree with the more room at the top, which might also make it need more to the right as well. A little bit more selective sharpening. The fish is very cool--can you imagine if we had eye contact with it!

I seem to have lost my touch on sharpening lately. The head looks totally sharp on my monitor.

Nice flight angle and lovely fish, BG is nice. Did you pull this up in post?

Head sharpness is just fine on my screen although I get comments about my photos needing more sharpening as well so I am probably not a good reference.

Great image Doug! I love the extended far wing and how the bird stands out from the background. Sharpness looks good from here.

Sharpness looks ok to me, but a little more on the head wouldn't hurt. Contrast seems a bit strong. Was this mid day? That fish makes me hungry for fresh Rainbow Trout, grilled of course.

Awesome shot indeed! Agree about toning down the white on the head. Composition looks fine to me.
