This reservoir has a small narrow island that the birds congregate on.
Converted to sepia after adjust contrast etc. dup layer~filter/render/fibers-small variance, merged with very low opacity- created vignette with Gaussain blur, darken in curves, within selected border.
comments and critique welcomed. regards~Bill

The image has an old feel to it. I like the color tones. I would personally like to see the birds at the left of the frame off the edge. The vignette seems too dark at the bottom-probably because it is already dark there. I love the gull on the right. Very interesting image.:)
First thing I saw after the initial look was those two gulls crammed into the frame on the left. I'd really be tempted to take at least the far left one out. Now if they went out of the frame on the right I'd probably feel it was more balanced but with the right side empty of birds it feels heavy on the left.
I really like the tones/color range in this. Agree that the vignette is a little heavy on the bottom - I'd leave it on the three sides and take it off the bottom edge and see how that works.
Very nice image, Bill. I like the old feel from the sepia tone and vignette. Lovely pano comp, and I especially like the two flight poses. Good points by Denise and Jules. Personally I would deal with the dark area on the bottom by cropping most of it off, which would also place the island lower in the frame and in a more pleasing position IMO.
I appreciate the comments. Very good suggestions! My goal was to create an old looking snapshot, and of course back when it was supposedly created, years and years before BPN, the amateur photographer didn't know much about composition and balance and all the other stuff, so in the spirit of the image I threw those ideas out the window! regards~Bill
