I've been offline for 3 weeks now; just returned home yesterday. I would like to give sincere thanks to everyone who prayed for the safety of my new twin granddaughters born 10 weeks premature.
    I'm proud to introduce:

Kaylin Jenna weighing in at 1.640 kgs on the 24th Nov. 2009 and
Teagan Jayde weighing in at 1.560kgs.

It has been a roller - coaster time. The first 5 days both were completely on breathing support and under lights for jaundice. They are on IV Therapy, Heart, Respiration, O2 Saturation and Temperature monitors and are fed through a stomach tube. Teagan started with pneumonia and was critical for 3 days, fortunately responding to antibiotics. Kaylin's stomach sphincter was very underdeveloped and she was constantly vomiting her feeds (all 2cc of them!)
Their little hands, arms , feet and even scalps have been used to keep the IV Therapy going and are blue from all the bruising but I thank God they are alive and now doing well.

They are now on 20cc milk every 3 hrs and Teagan has overtaken her sister weighing 1.800kgs to Kaylin's 1.780kgs.
They will still be in Neonatal Intensive Care and Hi Care for the next 6 -7 weeks.

The photos show the first ones taken full frame 6 hrs after birth compared with the last ones taken on Thursday!
I included the ruler to show actual size!! :D

Again thanks to everyone for your support and prayers.

I have thought a lot about those little ones since you first posted. Glad that they are on the way. It brings back memories as my twins were 7 weeks premature. I know the ups and downs. But....I believe they are survivors!!!

Thank you all so much. We are indeed richly blessed and it is a reminder that we are inclined to take the miracle of life for granted. God bless you all. :)

Jeni, thanks for sharing this wonderful news and big congrats to the family! My sister was a "preemie" at just over 3 pounds, just like these little ones, and when she came home from the hospital the adults could hold her in one hand! It is truly amazing how well they can do!! Happy holidays to you and the family!!!
