Very pretty bird, well exposed. I would like to see less trunk and more BG, as to divide the canvas in the rule of thirds, one third trunk, two thirds negative space. Head angle could be a bit more towards you.
Yes, the woodpecker COMP is 1/3-1/3-1/3. It looks as if the sharpest focus is on the near wing but the eye still looks pretty good. Best of all would have been a slight head turn towards you....
