    Default Sanderling with his spirit

Another one from the other day again with an oof bird in the BG. This time there is plenty of separation between the two I hope. I cleaned up most of the scattered seaweed and got rid of a long shadow than ran across the frame. Ran some NR and slightly sharpened the main bird. Thanks for looking and I'd like to know what people think of the bird in the BG.

The separation and angle make this one very interesting. Exposure and sharpness look good, too. Does it need a bit CW rotation?

Brian, If it were mine I'd evict the OOF bird in the BG. To me it looks more like a blob than a bird.(just my personal preference) But I love the Sanderlings details and sharpness. The pose and low angle are nice. I also like the color tone of the sand which compliments the bird nicely. I might brighten the glint in the eye just a tiny bit.

I do like the OOF Bird and the title as well :)
I like the idea to create an unusual image of the bird!

I think the oof bird works ok if that is indeed your intent, as it gives the image an interesting theme and is just enough recognizable as a twin.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions.
I know the oof birds in BG are sometimes "controversial";) but with Shore Birds it's sometimes hard to get separation and after seeing some images similar to this one that I've taken in the past I've grown to like them and actually go out with these styles of image in my mind already.
I do have some pretty clean images from this same outing that I'll be posting up soon, I never seem to have enough time to spend here at my favorite website.
