    Default Barred Owl flight

As a lot of people already know, the Barred owls are popping up all over this winter. Maybe it's the case of more people out there looking, or possibly an invasion year. At one of the locations these birds have lots of natural food around and were not bothered by our presence. This shot was taken as the bird was flying back to a perch after an unsuccessful hunt and shot full frame in dreary lighting conditions. Constructive C&C always welcomed.

    Thanks for looking, :)

like the sharp head and eye and the wing blur gives a sense of motion

The sharpness on the head is great and the BG is complimenting him nicely. I'd prefer a little more room all around him and especially in front. If the wings where either all the way up or down stroke this would have been one of the best inflight Barred Owl images I've seen. Still all around great image. Congrats

Very nice...love the detail on the face with the contrast of the motion blur on the wings!

Great shot Mike! I like the sharp body and wing blur. Only change I would make is to add a little more canvas in front of the owl.

Very clean for ISO 1000. Love the look of this owl and those talons. BG is great also.
You guys are lucky to have so many of these owls in your place.
