    Default Leopard cub

Right around 5am when I wook up at the lodge, we heard Baboons alarm calling...so when we started our
game drive, we tracked them down, as we figured the alarm call was for either a Leopard or Lion near by
Our tracker found this male cub sitting at a base of a tree with his mom and little sister up on the tree enjoying a nice small Duiker.

    MKIII 500F4+TC x1.4 1/80 F7.1 ISO 640.

    All c&c welcomed and appreciated.

Always pleasing to see a Leopard cub image Danny. You've done well with the difficult lighting at this time and could do with a touch more USM on his face looking at my cal monitor.
Did you use a tripod or monopod and did you get all three at any stage? Look forward to more. TFS

Marc, I used a bin bag.
Unfortunatly, I did not manage to get all 3 together.
As the tree was loaded with leaves and branches and this cub did not join them. So I never did manage to get a clean shot of them up on the tree.

Hi Danny, as Marc said, always great to see these animals, especially the cubs.

Not sure about adding a bit more USM as it looks quite sharp to me and there can be a tendency to over sharpen. However to me the image does look as if it has a strong magenta in it, especially the eyes. Just looking at the histogram it is right off the l/h side, try to keep it so it spread across L to R without going over board, then you will fine you will have a better tonal range with less processing IMHO with better results. Just trying to help :-)

Great portrait, Danny ! A leopard itself is rare...leave alone a cub. Having chased leopards myself, I know how rare this could be. It does look like he's almost grown to an adult's size. Isn't the environment awesome when deer and monkeys spot these guys, it's just thrilling !!!

I think the image could use some space on the right and/or a tilt to the left. I am with Steve on the USM, no need, image looks naturally sharp as it is currently, no need to gel him up :-).

PS: Just curious, Is a baboon's alarm call different for lions and leopards ?

Very nice portrait. Really like the eyes. Looks like the face could be a little brighter.

    Hi Danny Lovely portrait !!!

Checked the histogram and is not bad at all, if you move the right side blinkies will appear right away so you exposed properly. Did adjust the mid tone slider to the left for lightening, find to be the fastest and easiest way !!.. did not do any other change.

Nice portrait. Sharpness looks good, I prefer the colors and contrast of the original.
