Need Some Help! Exposure Compensation!

I'm will be going out to take pictures of eagles and I have a Nikon D300 and was wondering what metering mode would be suggested? I have ordered Arts book but won't be here till Tuesday and will be heading out tomorrow. So can anyone give me a few suggestions on camera setup? Thanks Mike K

Center-weighted average or matrix + Manual exposure mode, especially if your eagles are flying all over the place.

Good advice from Desmond For flight manual will probably be best if have a changing bg but the bird is in the same light !! Good luck !!
