I just got back from Cody, WY, where Dale Franz showed me his world. And what a wonderful world it is!! COLD:eek:!! And the D300 and Nikon 500 f/4 worked through snow and -14 temps. Along with the bighorn sheep were all sorts of other subjects, for example this mountain chickadee. I just loved the surrounds. Other settings, f/7.1, 1.4 TC, iso 800, 1/1000. All C&C welcomed:).
Loverly: the bird, the snow, the needles. You can keep the -14 however.

I might try to tone down the snow coming in from the middle of the left edge, where it merges with the tree he is sitting on. I think it would help give a slightly cleaner separation from the background.
Nancy, I love chickadees. Beautiful setting and I love to see the fine feather details. Randy makes a good point. Very nicely done. It sounds like you had a great trip. Looking forward to some more of your images.
