I photographed this image on tripod with my Canon 5D MK II at the Grand Canyon, AZ. This image was taken at sunrise, but due to the angle of the sun, the sun never reached the river. I took this image when the light reflected off the canyon walls. ISO 1600, f/8.0, 1/125 sec, -0.67 EV, EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM, 195mm, Evaluative Metering, Auto Exposure, Auto WB, No Flash. Love the S curve shape of the river, the rock texture of the canyon an cliff face, and the color do give early morning feel to it. The dark area in lower left corner draw my eye a bit.

Richard, I like the composition and the different color palette you got with the early morning sun! Interesting textures and layers to the canyon walls.

A lovely composition and such colors! Very eye catching. I do wish there were just a bit more color &/or detail in that white crescent of the river.

    Lovely Richard - awesome spot.
Colours with the S make for a dramatic image.
