what is the take on the new 300 mm vr lens with 4 stops flexibility?

WOW VR 11 already! :)

I don't have personal experience with the 300mm F2.8 VR II. However, Nikon has never made a 300mm F2.8 that was not sharp.

I do have experience with the VR II. It is a technology very similar to Tamron's latest VC.
It is noticeably better than Nikon's VR I and the Canon IS products I have used(I have used Canon's very latest IS)

Not for the extra $1000 they want for it.
There were plenty of lenses Nikon needed to update and this 300 was certainly not one of them.:confused:
This legend did not need fixing/updating IMO.
