    Default Poinsettia Blur

I know that next weeks theme is blurs, but I couldn't resist. I have had this look in my head and if you know me-I can't move on till it's on paper:). So here it is. I did a few macro shots of this pink poinsettia. I added some multiple layers and adjustments. I will keep working this plant and will try some in-camera blurs as well as some lensbaby images for the upcoming week.

Denise, I just bought a poinsettia plant and was planning to create some images this weekend but I have a feeling you're going to blow me away with this one!

I'm most interested to know how you got the lighting to be so beautiful...was it natural light coming in to the plant from an angle or was this created in pp? It's just lovely and so ethereal.

Denise, I love the lighting! I think I'd like the green edge leading to the center to be a little softer.

Jules, Thank you very much. I appreciate it. I can't wait to see some of your shots to get some ideas! It was natural lighting coming from the side.:)

Cheryl, I could do a softer version and will probably try one of the more blurred looks also. Thanks for your thoughts.:)

    the ethereal quality is awesome.
IMO, the central portion being the only green....that bit of sharpness is a good thing.
I keep wandering to the flower center(berries?) and that element could be totally out
of the image and not missed at all.

The translucent quality you have achieved is really beautiful

Beautiful light and i love the softness. I'd be interested in seeing an even softer version but this one works just great for me as is. With the weather as is, I'm thinking about bringing in some flowers and playing around a bit myself. I dod come away with several interesting tree blurs and fisheye images today but outside pickings are getting slim!

Thanks Ed. I hear you about slim pickings. Of course until everything freezes and then it will be a whole new ball game!:) I'm looking forward to that.

    Nice image and application Denise.

I like the softness and green buds, but might also consider a pano view. I have attached a rough cropping of the interest you might want to explore further.

Hey Mark, I'm not too fond of panos for this type of image but I did re-look at the image and decided to take a sliver off the bottom. Not quite as much as you but still a liitle bit.Thanks.
