this is an January '09 Ring Billed on a cloudy day with snow added
via mono noise/blur/levels/motion blur. 3 snow layers at screen blend mode.
One had extended motion blur for the stronger lines visible(works well for a sleet look)

thanks for looking and c/c....have a super weekend friends

Superb job w/ the snow/sleet look. The gull is perfectly placed within the frame and the BG colors just remind me of snow. Killer pose and eye contact. Love the raised foot.

The raised foot is actually due to a broken leg that just swings.
    Notice the damage
it has caused to the tail feathers .

So that is how the tail feathers were damaged! :( Makes sense.

Really neat image, Dave. You did an excellent job on the snow/sleet effect and I love that the gull is still so visible and in tact. It feels very natural and realistic. Beautiful work on the whites of the gull's feathers.

Dave, I love the layers of snow and the crispness of the gull. It's a beautiful image.
