    Default Cattle Egret from Bosque

Scary to put up so much white!:)
This must be Bosques one and only cattle egret--and it was more than willing to have its picture taken.
I am sure it was waiting for us to kick up some more grasshoppers!

Hi Bonnie. I missed seeing this guy. Very nice to capture it with an insect. Nice sharpness, comp and good detail in the whites. Looks like the nictitating membrane is covering part of the eye. Could be a plus or a minus depending on how you want to use the image. :) Well done.

Cool shot, nice job on exposing for all that white. What kind of weather are
    the having? Snow?

Very nice shot of the egret with the insect.
Good job on the exposure too. I love the detail on the head of the egret.

I saw a couple of cattle egrets on my last day at Bosque.
It was raining and they didn't cooperate much though... :(

I like that you captured this one with an insect-nice find for both of you! I feel that the sharpening is a bit heavy handed, especially at the face, yet the tip of the beak is comparatively soft.

    Bonnie...

Excellent sharpness on the subject and I like the background and inclusion of the foreground grasses.

I'm wondering if the overall gamma of the image couldn't be brought up a bit?

I think you'd be safe without blowing the whites.

Whites look a little too gray, so I agree with Jim about raising it a tad. Nice catch with the bug. There are actually a few of these fellows around Bosque.

Bonnie, Beautiful image design with the grass and BG. I like the catch. Very nice details and sharpness.
