This is an image of giant sequoias in Mariposa Grove near the Yosemite NP's south entrance. This was taken in February few years back with ground snow still intact at this elevation (approx 5600 ft). It is about 2 miles hike to get there in snow. I used Topaz Simplify and few other adjustment layers to get this effect. Hope you like it...

Indranil....liked it...but the snow on the ground is a little overpowering IMO. Since there is a lot of snow further on on the road too, I would have cropped some from the bottom. But yes...the effect is lovely. That one prominent tree is grabbing attention nicely.

I think you could get by with just toning down the brighter area of snow just a bit and it would be fine the way it is. I very much like the treatment you chose for this...lots of detail but still very serene.

Indranil, I like the composition as is and think that the path bend created by the shadows at the FG is important to the scene. I do think that you could tone that area down ever so slightly. Beautiful image and rendering. What is the grey rectangle at the base of the prodominent redwood?

for my taste the snow and crop are perfect.
The histogram has no climbing in any channel and nothing hot/blocked.
This is just the way I see bright snow.....very well presented IMO

Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it a lot. I see the point on the bright snow. Just as Dave mentioned, that's how bright snow should be in direct sun. However, for comparison here is a repost with toned down whites...

Hi Denise, that is the Nantional Park signage for Mariposa Grove. Initially, I thought of cloning that out. Btw, this entire place was under 3 feet of snow...

Indranil, I was just wondering what it was-I thought maybe a sign. I have only been there once and it is amazing! You are so lucky to have access to that area often!! Indranil, The snow in the repost looks good-there are some additional areas at the beginning of the path that are more defined. It's a lovely scene. Very well done.

Indranil - a beautiful scene. A nice Topaz effect. I think I like the snow a little better in the repost - I agree
with Denise that you can see a little more detail.
