    Default Silvereye on NZ Flax flowers

    Got this while wandering around waiting for my daughter who was doing an art workshop. Not too keen on the pale grey BG (OOF clouds) and it would have benefitted from some fill flash. Used Fabs' Nik reflector trick to open up the shaded breast and patched out a whole sprig of blossoms above the bird. I like the orange pollen on the top of the head - ain't no free lunch:)
    Nikon D700
    Nikon 500VR + 1.4x
    ISO 400 1/1600 f5.6 matrix +0.67

    Beautiful one Bhai, we have a very similar bird called a white eye here... lovely details and compo...

    its sharp, i like the comp, i also like the yellow on the bird with the red of the flower.

    Tony, I think the BG isn't so bad and it contrasts nicely with the birds colors. Lots of detail on this little guy and the perch adds interest. You did great with the Nik Ref. Congrats

    Very nice photo Tony. Bg does not bother me. I like that all of the bird is out in open and still some habitat. Nice and sharp. Dave

    Tony, Very nice details and beautiful clear eye! I like the composition w/ the perch and soft blue sky.

    Beatuiful shot! Exposure is great! I know who easy it is to cook the ring around the eye. Can work as a tighter crop with less space on the right IMO.

    What we see here in India, do have Orange spot on head ,
