    Default Waterproof lens suggestion?

I'm planning on visiting Seattle in March and hope to do a fair amount of bird photography while there. I'm expecting a fair amount of rain which I know my Canon 100-400 can't tolerate. I'll take it with me but I'd like to rent something for those rainy days. I prefer hand holding so I'm considering the 400 DO or 400 5.6, possibly with a teleconverter with the 1D Mark III. Any preferences or suggestions? Thanks in advance for the help!

SEATTLE! I would opt for a Nikonos V to be on the safe side.:):)

    24_70 f/2.8, 17-40 f/4, and the big white Ls.

A rain cover sounds like a useful option - this thread may help http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=49571

    I second this option.

On my 500 mm, I use a cheap, old, camouflage nylon, rain gear pant's leg, cut off. (about $10, and you get two legs!) It fits perfectly over the lens and camera. Some, even have a adjustable rubber band on the lower end of the leg. Otherwise use two heavy rubber bands. It works great.

Thanks, everyone, for the suggestions (haha Cristopher!). I like both the ideas of the Rainsleeve and the Storm Jackets. I think I'll try the Rainsleeve for this trip since it's so inexpensive and see how it goes.
