    Default Pied-billed grebe silhouette

Hope you guys aren't bored with my silhouettes.

40D. 400 f/5.6. iso 640. f/5.6. 1/1250. Settings were for something else I was shooting and this dude popped out of the water very close by. some color-temp and Curves work in DPP.

Do the ripples work? I have another clean shot that I will process and post next week. Thanks in advance.

The ripples look fine to me. In fact, if I knew how and it were my photo I might try and accentuate the ripple shadows even more. Not sure if a crop off the top would help or not, interesting to see what others think. Well done. Dave

I might have cropped this a bit more into a pseudo pano?

I think the issue my eyes have with this one is that the head looses all definition as it is a complete sillouete. I think that works more for distant subjects or ones with some sort of head feather details, but it doesn't seem to work as well here.

Course...that's just one persons opinion :)
