Love the tittle Stuart .. fitting !!

Hard to imagine getting this close and being able to use a flash with no effect to the animal !! Lots of detail, sharp and love that stare !!! Have a great vacation !!!!

Great use of flash! The exposure is just perfect. I keep looking at the image and wonder if a bit less body on the left would add drama to the wonderful mane and detailed eye as more of a portrait?

apt title sir and great-looking lion - enjoy your holiday!

Alfred - the use of flash on nocturnal animals has been beat to death on many forums, there are those who firmly believe it causes permanent harm, and there are those who believe they apply it in such a way so as to avoid hitting the pupils directly. A popular technique nowadays is using 2 vehicles with spotlights, and illuminating from the side with the other vehicle.
