Thanks to fellow BPNer and guide David Cramer, photographing the wild horses of Placitas, NM was made possible on my way to Bosque. They are about 30 mins from the airport. If memory serves me correctly, I believe this band totalled 7 and included 2 foals.

I chose this picture b/c of the mood it portrayed. I didn't think any more photography was possible b/c the sun was so low. Then, all of a sudden, the stallion looked up and I saw this scene. It's difficult to tell, the stallion is on a pretty steep incline.

Handheld from the side of hill.

    C & C always welcomed and appreciated,

Great timing with the light and do like the mood, very different and like it a lot. Careful framing and horse placement in frame is just right !!! Sweet !!!

The light, shadows and position of your subject in the frame serve well to create the mood you envisioned. I might lop a tad off the top.

Marina, well thoughtout, and the light is cast perfectly on the slallion. Well done.

you achieved your goal - the fall of light here makes the shot. agree with snipping some off the top...

    Beautiful image, wonderful light...

I disagree about crop off top I think you would loose the sense of the steep incline that you have created...

I enjoyed showing you the horses, Mariana. True to form, you didn't stop photographing until the last ray of light was gone. The pose is great, and I also love how you've presented his long tail to the ground that wild horses often have.

Like the comp and the warm light. Just wish a little more of the light covered the horse.
