    Default Ruddy Turnstone Portrait

Photographed at Barnegat Light a week ago. Some of these birds are very skittish, others walk right up to you, like this one.

Beautiful portrait Axel. I like the way the colours of the bird compliment those of the background to produce a very harmonius photo.

    Cheers

    Lovely subject Axel.....

My only nit is that the shadow area on the last 1/3rd of the bill is a bit distracting. Could this be lightened up with a QM?

Great detail and pose. I love the background. Looks like it could have been shot in a studio with the background like that.

Good choice of aperture Axel, and I like the softer light, detail and colours. Lovely complimentary BG. I hope to see stacks of these guys and others in Cape Town.

Axel, I like the details and sharpness. The BG does look like a studio backdrop. Very nicely done.

killer close-up, turnstones can be very skittish for sure (we deal with the Black turnstones on this coast) so i know how hard it can be to get anything decent.
    Very nice Axel!

Perfect portrait comp. And an awesome bokeh at f/11. The BG matcing the subject makes this very unique.

Lovely photo Axel. Simple and straight forward. HA, eye contact and exposure are all bang on. It is always interesting to see how you handle the whites. Very nice. Dave
