This is Australia's only Sunbird, and is found as a fairly common species in Far North Queensland.

    Hi Nevil,
Cool bird, and very nice perch. The BG looks great as well. I would have wished for a bit more HT towards the viewer and would suggest to take out the extra catchlight (from flash??). Thanks for sharing

What a great bird! I love the color of the bird against your background.

I would probably darken the light colored leaves on the top front of the bird. They are so light they are slightly distracting. I agree with the comment about the extra catchlight - almost a pinpoint in the center of the eye. I would also crop a little tighter with some off the top and a little from the left and right sides.

Hi Nevil, I like the setting, comp, light and colours. A slight turn of his head towards you would have been great. I like the two tone BG.

Cool bird, nice perch and BG. I would tone down the whites on the flower. I'm not familiar with this species but it looks as if there is a slight blueish/magenta color cast.

Slight head turn would have made this killer one , beautiful bird and superb BG

Nice shot...I would have cropped this a little tighter and avoided the center composition. I also feel the leaves at the bottom are too bright and distracting

Sharp with awesome detail. I don't see any colour cast but agree with tonning down the flower.

Well done, Nevil. I really like the way the colours in the plumage are echoed in the BG. Agree with trimming a little from above.

Excellent image Nevil. I really like the colour combinations. I would be tempted to try some different crops, however I understand why you would want to retain the Golden Penda perch.
