Not sure if I already posted this. Shot in California at 11,000 feet where the Bristle Pines grow.

I love the detail and composition here. I wondered if you might continue the pine cone 'patterns' at the bottom of the frame as well, but I do like your placement of the 2 nestled inside the angle of the trunk. The lighting and depth are right on.

Very nice textures and composition, Mike. To me it feels like it could use a hair more sharpening to really bring out all those pine needles but that could just be a result of the upload. Love all those brown tones!

Very nicely composed image, Mike. Even though the trunk is prominent, it shares the attention with the pine cones evenly. Still, toning down the trunk a tiny bit and sharpening it a sliver would greatly enhance the image, IMO. TFS.

    Mike,

Nice vision and use of earth tones and shadows on this one. Great 3 D effect.
    Thanks for sharing...

Hi Mike, I so love your bristlecone series, they look so western to me, the texture, almost sepia tones and lighting are superb.

Just lovely. Fabulous composition and detail. I especially like the pine needles in the hole in the trunk.
