There must be a lot of these owls around - more and more photos keep showing up!
    I don't think I could hold 500mm that still at 1/400 - good sharpness.
Nice pose and I love the sense of the forest with him perched on that thick mossy branch.

Beautiful image of a barred owl, Bill. I'm always trying to get such an image as we have them on our farm but never so lucky. Background really nice, as well. They sure have big, black eyes. Perch ain't bad either.

Nice and sharp, creamy BG and great perch.
It almost looks like there is too much space on the right-hand side but that's just my preference.
    sweet shot!

Wonderful isolation on this guy...nice to have it on such an open perch (and said perch has lots of character)! I do wish the amount of space on either side was reversed (less at right, more at left). There is also a hint of blue cast on the plumage...desaturating the blue channel will work wonders here.

Lovely image Mr. Bill, framed perfectly for me, you could have worn sandals in those woods and not gotten wet.

That is one great bird, I love the pose, perch, overall feel and stare of the bird.
Agree with Dan about the space on the sides.

Wonderful look back from the owl Bill, a great perch and well worth getting your boots muddy.

Great shot Bill! Love the big perch, the details, BG and HT. I would like Daniel suggested see if there is any wiggling room to move the subject more to the right of the frame. Its body pose suggests a composition that way would be even more effective (hope you understand what I mean). Thanks for showing!
