    Default Sandhill Crane

This photo was taken during my trip to Bosque del Apache a couple of weeks ago.
I sat at the border of the north pool and shot this crane taking off in the beautiful morning light.

    Hi Lius,
Welcome to BPN! How have you been? One of the best crane shots ina while, razor sharp, awsome wing position and perfect BG. Congrats.

Lovely first post Luis! Beautiful downstroke, your timing here was perfect. If anything I wish the bird was a bit higher in the frame, and you could redue the sheen on the legs. Good stuff...hope to see some more!! :-)

Welcome to BPN, Luis! Very nice first post. I like the light, wing position and BG. I would put the bird a bit higher in the frame. Do you have some earlier images in this series with the bird flying toward you? Keep them coming!

A warm welcome to BPN Luis and a very lovely first pose. Daniel pretty much said it all. Good timing and love the wing position. Thanks for sharing and will look forward to your future posts.

Thanks Axel and everyone else for welcome and the great feedback.

Unfortunately, the framing was a little off on this picture, so I don't have more room underneath the bird.
The other frames in the sequence had the bird with the wing up and clipped due to the close proximity.
I did try to recrop the image though by removing more from the upper part. I also lowered the shine on the legs.
Here is the final image (8mp).

    Thanks,

I like the crop off the top but wouldn't have cropped off the right to leave room 'to fly into'.
