    Default Bald Eagle with Breakfast

Photographed at Conowingo yesterday morning. This bird flew by so closely that I clipped both wings and tried this crop. I also like the head angle of the fish. :)

Axel: Now that's a nice save of a shot with clipped wings. Gives a good look not only on the eagle but on the fish. There wasn't much fishing that we saw near us, but a few flew over with fish being pursued by other eagles wanting to steal the fish.

Really nice detail in eagle as well as the fish.

    Axel:

Thanks for another excellent Conowingo image. The fish, the eagle's eye contact, preservation of feather detail in both the light and dark areas despite the bright sunlight, and the diagonal wing presentation combine to make this image special.

This is a super shot, Axel. I know I am guilty of trying too hard to lighten the underwing in similar situations so I like the way you have preserved detail in the shadow. Sharp beak and eye, great angle and of course the prey really makes it. Wow!

Crop works well here, and nice detail considering the hard light. Wish the wings weren't flat, but a nice image given the pose the bird presented you.

Love the carefully balanced crop, the flat wings, and the SH. It looks as if that fish is not going anywhere... You handled the light wonderfully.

I really like the crop! Having the back of the right wing and the front of the left wing terminate at the corners seems to give this a natural balance.

That is a great shot. The crop works perfect with the eye in the upper third. Good pp with the shadows revealing the right amount of detail.

    Congrats. Anand
