    Canon 1dmkIII 500mm f4 1.4x, Tripod, 1/200 @ 7.1 ISO 500, Auto focus.

    Great pose of this woodpecker James with good lighting, detail and exposure. Only suggestion would be to crop a little off the top to strengthen the composition.

    Great pose, details and light. I might apply some CW rotation to straighten the trunk and I find the BG a bit distracting.

    Great head turn. I would crop off the top as well. The dark blob in the BG above the head is distracting. Some PS cloning would solve that problem if you are so inclined.
