I wish I had the original file, it is on a hard drive that "someone" dropped 2x,
along with 6 months of work, not backed up... please back up your files!!

Ray this is really good image. We call them "Purple Swamphen" in india. truly a vibrant and shy bird here.

This is a different species than the bird in Asia, Europe and Africa which is quite a bit larger and more robust than our North American bird.

Raymond, Beautiful pose w/ the raised foot. Very nice exposure and sharpness. I might tone down the one light grass behind the bird. Sorry to hear about the raw file. Love seeing these birds w/ such nice details. Fantastic image!

I like the angle, walking pose, eye contact and sharpness and would tone down the tail a bit. I'm sorry to hear that you lost lots of files.

Smashing good image Raymond. I don't know if I have seen an image of one of these fellas with this much detail in the feathers. The raised leg and pleasing habitat make this one sweet shot. Well done!!

Crispy clear shot with a lot of details. You we quite close too, and that helps explains it, but your lens/camera combo and your technique were also good.

Hey Ray, good to see your images again (I have been out of town for a while :p)
I like the pose of the bird a lot, the BG is a bit distracting but what I like the most on this image is the superb quality of the feather´s texture with those different hues, really beautifull :)

Love the repost and it's a shame to hear about your hard drive. Lovely bird and environment.
