Got to shoot blind #3 at the Colusa NWR in Californias Central Valley on Wednesday. A great place to get up close and personal with the waterfowl. There weren't too many ducks as there haven't been enough major storms to drive the ducks south this year. I had less than a dozen mallards come into the blind over the course of about four hours early in the morning.Still a wonderful experience though. I'll trade one morning in the blind over any day working in an office.

Lighting was soft early morning light.

Camera on a platform in the blind with a Bogen 3055 heavy duty ballhead

    All CC appreciated.

    god bless,

That is a great narrative, short, sweet and it makes want to go to the lake.

Might want to rebalance the crop some. I might have more at top and less on bottom, work the eye - you are on the right track young Jedi - well done.

Might trade a stop of aperture for a stop of shutter if you can, the zoom lens are great but not as sweet as a prime.

    Hi Chris,
I like the colors and hues, you have a sweet image and capture here...agree with Mr. Cashdollar on the cropping factor and the enhancement on the eye...you did well, looking forward to your next one...

I like it a lot Chris Might back down the saturation a bit Not sure what was right left but a horizontal without reflection would be a nice image also !!! Excellent image !!

    Hi Chris,
Really nice shot! The green in the head seems to have a little more of a yellow tint to it that I see in the Mallards around me neck of the woods. Is that just a by product of picking up the reflected light or could it be tweaked a little bit?

A personally like shots showing natural behavior.

    Take care,
    Mark
