I captured this image of a Juvenile Harlan's Dark Morph Red-tailed Hawk taking flight back on Nov 18 along Kootenay River Road near Creston, B.C.
Model: Canon EOS REBEL T1i & Sigma 50-500mm
Shutter Speed: 1/1250 second
Aperture: F/5.6 -0.67
Focal Length: 363 mm
ISO Speed: 400

A very nice capture and pose Brent, sharp with good detail.
I'd lighten the darkest self-shadowing under both wing tips a bit I think, and tone down the highlights on the lower tail and right wing. Also some NR on the BG... the noise is uniform and not too bad, but I think smoothing it would improve the image. I'll let others speak to the crop... 'cause that's always a difficult call for me.
Cool bird with great pose (though the whole bird is angled slightly away from you....) Sharp. The biggest problem is the uneven lighting on the underwings...
